Today sweeping changes are taking place in Health care sector. Several factors are adversely affecting the running of hospitals in this changed scenario:
- Heightened awareness among the public about various health issues through electronic and printed media.
- Increased controls, regulations and taxing by the Government.
- A steep rise in Health Insurance clientele with controlled tariff.
- Increased attrition of professionals and Paramedical staff due to several new hospitals coming up.
Especially hit are the philanthropic service oriented hospitals. Several hospitals are either closing down or are engulfed by the giants in this sector.
Against this scenario, P.D. Hinduja Sindhi Hospital is sailing with innovative strategies to sustain the onslaught thanks to the support from the Sindhi Youth Association and the Hinduja Foundation, Mumbai. During the past one year efforts on quality improvement through ISO, NABH, and NABL accreditation process have been vigorously pursued. We are continuing to improve the facilities by adding new equipments regularly. A reputed Biomedical Servicing Firm has been entrusted with the Annual Maintenance Contract for all the biomedical equipments in the hospital including calibration and Asset analysis.
Free Milk & Biscuits distribution to all patients in the hospital has been introduced. Hospital expansion plans are in full swing and shortly we expect to add another 30 beds in the newly constructed annexe building and another adjacent multistoreyed building is being taken on rent to house most of the non-patient activities like Nurses Hostel, Conference Hall, Medical Records etc; to ease the congestion in the main building and further increase the bed strength. We plan to increase the consulting rooms and strengthen cardiology and oncology services. Upgrading the Imaging Department by adding C.T. scan is also on the anvil”.
